Connect Claude to Velocity
Works with claude.ai on the web, the Claude mobile apps, and Claude Desktop.

How to connect
- In claude.ai, open Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Velocity Skills (Web) and paste the URL above.
- Click Connect and sign in to your Velocity account when your browser opens.
- Back in a chat, ask Claude to “show my Velocity Skill Board” to confirm it worked.
The first time Claude asks to use a Velocity tool, choose Always allow. A skipped or denied prompt means the run is not recorded.
Using Claude Team or Enterprise?
Only the account owner can add a custom connector, and they add it once for the whole organisation:
- In claude.ai, open Organization settings, then Connectors. Choose Add, then Custom. If Claude asks for the connector type, choose Web.
- If Claude asks for a name, use Velocity Skills (Web). Paste the URL above, then choose Add. This adds it once, for everyone in your organisation.
- Now connect your own account: open Customize, then Connectors, find Velocity Skills (Web), click Connect and sign in to your Velocity account when your browser opens.
- Back in a chat, ask Claude to “show my Velocity Skill Board” to confirm it worked.
Adding it connects nobody, you included. Each colleague connects their own account from Customize, then Connectors, and signs in as themselves.
Sign in at step 3 with the Velocity account you want the work recorded against. A different account records your work where you will not see it.

Skills run when you ask for them here, for example “run my <skill name> skill.” For skills that trigger automatically, plus Velocity Discovery, install the desktop extension instead.
Using ChatGPT Business or Enterprise?
Velocity Skills also works as a custom MCP connector in a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise workspace, same endpoint, same OAuth sign-in. Once your workspace admin has published it (below), each member connects with these steps.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps, turn on Velocity Skills, and sign in to velocity.forum as yourself and approve the Velocity consent screen (it names ChatGPT as the app).
- Start a chat, and pick Velocity Skills from the tools menu or @mention it (the choice applies to that message). Then ask “show my Velocity Skill Board” or “run my <skill name> skill”.
- When ChatGPT asks to confirm the action, choose remember for this conversation to confirm once per chat.

For workspace admins
A workspace owner or admin sets this up once, for the whole workspace:
- Turn on developer mode: open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, then Developer mode. Creating the app in the next step turns this on for you automatically if it isn't already.
- Open Workspace settings, then Apps, choose Create, name it Velocity Skills, add a Description (for example “Run your Velocity skills and record Value Impact”), paste the URL above as the Server URL, and set Authentication to OAuth. Tick the risk acknowledgement, then choose Create. This makes a draft app immediately.
- Open the draft and choose Enable. When the Velocity consent screen opens, sign in to velocity.forum as yourself and approve. This only connects your own account; each member signs in as themselves when they enable the app. Then use the draft's … menu to choose Refresh and confirm the Velocity tools are listed.
- Back on the app's row, choose Publish, reviewing the write-action warnings, so workspace members can enable it.
- On Enterprise or Edu, an admin first grants developer mode under Workspace Settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data.

On a Business workspace a published app cannot be edited; when Velocity adds tools, recreate the app and publish it again.
